"The term 'Bohemian'
has come to be very commonly accepted in our day as the description of
a certain kind of literary gipsey, no matter in what language he speaks,
or what city he inhabits ... A Bohemian is simply an artist or littérateur
who, consciously or unconsciously, secedes from conventionality in life
and in art." ["Westminster Review," 1862]

No updates for a while - I'm sorry about that. I'm in the middle of redesigning this whole site and making good on some of the promises I've made over the last several years.
I'm using some new technology in the redesign so do yourself a favor and upgrade your browser to something that's current. Some of the functionality of the new site may not work on your old browser.
06.30.09
Well, 2005 might have been a really good year, but 2008 was the
worst year. I caught a case of the cancer. What this meant last year is that I had less time to do anything. What
it means going forward is that there will be no heavy lifting. If you think this means I'm selling my trailer, you're
mistaken. It just may take a little longer to get it where I want it to be. I'm slowly re-building my strength and
wrapping my brain around pulleys and other lifting devices. I gave up my role at the Vintage Airstream Club as the
webmaster, and I think it's better for all parties. I wish the club all the luck in the world. I however have this
website to maintain - and it's about time I did it. I'm planning a redesign using some new technologies I've been
learning for my day job, and I'm getting really close on the Airstream Serial Number Calculator that's been in the
works for years. (It's an ugly mess of logic, but if it works, well, it works.) I greyed out the navigation because in
the midst of everything else, someone stole my identity, so the payment method for my AB.com hosting got declined. New
payment method, new hosting and we're back on our feet. I'm sorry if you stopped by and the site was unavailable.
I'm also sorry if your browser thinks I'm trying to do something tricky with javascript. I just noticed that myself.
Take heart, I'm not. I don't even know what that is. There's no javascript on this page at all!
Well, let's move on - I've got a Bucket List!

this is a fun way to
start the new best year of my life. I don't know what it is, but I seem
to get connected with CCD sometimes - I like the company!
- The
Mod Pod - surreal estate: by carol lloyd
- i got an email from robyn dochterman (from the StarTribune
article below) asking for a place to go to get her new vintage airstream repaired. i knew it! it's contagious!
- 2005 is once again the year of the airstream. i've been finding
resources for machining and parts fabrication for not only the old airstream,
but the 1951 plymouth puller as well. maybe in the next week or so I'll
be able to go through this site and give you some new links and updates
from my little end of the mod world.
- if the weather gets nice enough in WI this month, I may just head
out and grab some parts that need to be replaced, and get them drawn
up on CAD for some CNC machining work - then I can play with some fiberglass.

check out these
articles:
i'm in these:
airstreamBohemia started in 1999 as a resource for vintage airstream restorers when there
weren't a whole lot of sites out there. since then, there has been a swelling
of the vintage airstream community and there are sites everywhere!
here are some of my
favorites:
and resources you
might not think would be related to airstream restoration:
- TMTechnologies - better metalworking tools - sells the tools that Discovery Channel
says are "hard to find" on "Motorcycle Mania 2."
if Jesse James can use them to build motorcycles, I can use them to
fix airstreams.
- Aircraft
Spruce - rivets, metal and other things.
here's what you can
look forward to on this site over the next couple of days through the
next couple of years.
- complete documentation of my restoration - a 1960 24' Airstream Tradewind
- a handbook of bizarre destinations (i still travel even though the
trailer's in the garage!)
- a model reference. Vintage
Airstream has the best one so far, hopefully he and I can
make a better one together.
Thanks for visiting!
